A special convoy for the delivery of the generator with a length of 9m by 4.20m wide and 4m high and a turbine with a length of 8m by 4.5m wide and 3.5m height arrived at destination safely.

An accomplishment made possible by the power of our network.

A door-to-door service was proposed by Bolloré Logistics teams in Senegal, to the Electricity Company of Senegal and the company PROMAC INDIA, responsible for the construction and installation of the plant.

The operations started with the loading of heavy equipment at the port of Chennai under the supervision of Bolloré Logistics India. The maritime transport was then organized by Bolloré Logistics Spain, in direct relationship with the Shipping line; and finally, the unloading and transport operations, aimed to deliver the engine at Sendou site, were provided by Bolloré Logistics teams in Senegal.

"Our rich experience of similar industrial projects’ management has enabled us to win the contract to transport a material of an overall weight of 4,100 Tons, made up of 247 parcels including two heavy loads of 210 and 110 Tons", said Daouda Dioume, Project Manager.

The operation has been completed in three days and required the use of a NICOLAS trailer from Marine Morocco, towed by one of our 6X4 trucks, to transfer the two sensitive parcels.

The close collaboration between the projects, HSE and Logistics teams has led to a perfect execution of transport operations, which fully satisfied our client.

The plant operated by the Electricity Company of Senegal (SENELEC) is expected to reach a 125 megawatts capacity, and help decrease the energy deficit faced by the country.

This success underlines our expertise in managing heavy-lift and out-of-gauge operations, and should guarantee us a successful relationship which PROMAC INDIA, in case logistics services are needed for the coming contracts with SENELEC.
