Established in 1822, the Bolloré Group is one of the 500 largest global companies. Listed on the stock exchange, it is still mainly controlled by the Bolloré family. The stability of its shareholding enables it to pursue a long-term investment policy. By virtue of its diversification strategy, which is based on innovation and international development, it currently occupies a strong position in three areas of business: transport and logistics, media and communication and electricity storage solutions. Thanks to the its 58,000 employees spread across 156 countries, the Bolloré Group generated a turnover of 10.8 billion Euros in 2015.
In addition to its transport and logistics businesses, the Bolloré Group has a significant presence in the field of media and communication. It owns 60 % of Havas, one of the leading international publicity and communication strategy companies. It also owns the free daily French newspaper 'Direct Matin', holds a share in Gaumont and is expanding within the field of telecommunication. At the same time, the Group made electricity storage a major development focus and by developing a unique electric battery technology called Lithium Metal Polymer (LMP®), the applications of which were deployed by its subsidiary Blue Solutions. The Group also develops mobile applications (car-sharing and electric cars, buses and tramways) and stationary solutions and provides systems to control these applications (IER, Polyconseil). In addition to its three main activities, the Bolloré Group manages a collection of financial shares, representing approximately 5 billion Euros by the end of 2015. Its main investments is Vivendi, in which it has held a 14.5% share at December 31, 2015.
