Established in 1822, the Bolloré Group is one of the 500 largest global companies. Listed on the stock exchange, it is still mainly controlled by the Bolloré family. The stability of its shareholding enables it to pursue a long-term investment policy. By virtue of its diversification strategy, which is based on innovation and international development, it currently occupies a strong position in three areas of business: transport and logistics, media and communication and electricity storage solutions. Thanks to the its 59,000 employees spread across 143 countries, the Bolloré Group generated a turnover of 10.1 billion Euros in 2016.
In addition to its transport and logistics businesses, the Bolloré Group has a significant presence in the field of media and communication through Vivendi, it is an integrated media, content and communications of which it crossed the 20% threshold in share capital and voting rights in October 2016. It also owns the free daily French newspaper Cnews and is expanding within the field of telecommunication.
At the same time, the Group made electricity storage a major development focus and by developing a unique electric battery technology called Lithium Metal Polymer (LMP®), the applications of which were deployed by its subsidiary Blue Solutions. The Group also develops mobile applications (car-sharing and electric cars, buses and tramways) and stationary solutions and provides systems to control these applications (IER, Polyconseil). In addition to its three main activities, the Bolloré Group manages a collection of financial shares, representing approximately 7.3 billion Euros at June 30, 2017.
