Established in 1822, the Bolloré Group is one of the 500 largest global companies. Listed on the stock exchange, it is still mainly controlled by the Bolloré family. The stability of its shareholding enables it to pursue a long-term investment policy. By virtue of its diversification strategy, which is based on innovation and international development, it currently occupies a strong position in three areas of business: transport and logistics, communication and electricity storage solutions. Thanks to its 81,000 employees spread across 130 countries, the Bolloré Group generated a turnover of 18.3 billion Euros in 2017.
In addition to its transport and logistics businesses, the Bolloré Group has a significant presence in the field of media and communication through Vivendi, it is an integrated media, content and communications of which it crossed the 25% threshold in share capital (1) in the first half of 2018. It also owns the free daily French newspaper Cnews and is expanding within the field of telecommunication.
At the same time, the Group made electricity storage a major development focus and by developing a unique electric battery technology called Lithium Metal Polymer (LMP®), the applications of which were deployed by its subsidiary Blue Solutions. The Group also develops mobile applications (car-sharing, electric cars and buses ) and stationary solutions and provides systems to control these applications (IER, Polyconseil). In addition to its three main activities, the Bolloré Group manages a collection of financial shares, representing approximately 6.2 billion Euros at June 30, 2018.
