Bolloré Transport & Logistics committed to the fight against AIDS

Puteaux. 03 December 2019

For nearly 20 years, Bolloré Transport & Logistics has rallied for World AIDS Day.

While the epidemic has diminished, AIDS remains very much a reality. Convinced that prevention is the most effective way to fight against the virus, Bolloré Transport & Logistics is helping to stem the pandemic through prevention and screening initiatives and by ensuring the medical care of its employees.

In Africa, Bolloré Transport & Logistics organises awareness-raising sessions in Côte d’Ivoire at the Treichville train station and the Naval Carena site. It has also rolled out initiatives in the cities of Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina Faso, and Libreville and Port-Gentil in Gabon, where doctors, peer educators and social workers carry out awareness campaigns targeting thousands of employees, subcontractors and users of its services.

In the Central African Republic, interactive and entertaining events are held to help staff and subcontractors to learn more about the virus and how to prevent it. Bolloré Transport & Logistics regularly distributes condoms and organises free and anonymous screening campaigns in Pointe-Noire in Congo and Mombasa and Nairobi in Kenya.

Every year, Bolloré Transport & Logistics ensures the medical care of its employees infected with the AIDS virus. To that end, the company’s Camrail subsidiary in Cameroon is equipped with a care unit for people with AIDS that is open to the public.
