TERRA has been committed to this certification process since October 2021, focusing its efforts around a number of aspects: in particular, employee awareness of and involvement in environmental issues, implementing actions to reduce paper and plastic waste, optimising water and energy use, and sound management of the allocation of handling equipment.

In June 2022, Terminal Roulier d’Abidjan (TERRA), which provides of handling and activities related to ro-ro ships at the Port of Abidjan, received the “Green Terminal” label issued by Bureau Veritas. This attests to the significant reduction in the environmental impact of its activities.

A modern terminal, built in accordance with international standards, TERRA handled 39,854 vehicles and 22,617 EVP containers in 2021. The company now wants to consolidate its environmental approach through waste recovery and recycling, and by supporting environmental initiatives and acquiring more energy-efficient equipment.
The “Green Terminal” label launched by Bolloré Ports in June 2021, in partnership with Bureau Veritas, aims to help reduce the carbon footprint of its activities based on a methodology that encompasses every environmental concern. Since the launch, eight Bolloré Ports terminals have been awarded the label, and another 10 are expected to receive it in the coming months.
Terminal Roulier d’Abidjan (TERRA) was created as part of the operating agreement signed on 19 December 2008 with the Autonomous Port of Abidjan. A subsidiary of Bolloré Ports, TERRA is a limited company which began operations on 1 January 2010. TERRA provides, on a single site, handling and activities related to ro-ro ships at the port of Abidjan. With the support of its shareholders, the company has acquired modern equipment and employed skilled personnel in order to guarantee the provision of services that meet its customers’ needs and expectations.
